1. If I were Mrs. Watson the way I would punish Byron is teach him how dangerous fire is and take one of his privleges away that he really likes. Also i would ground him, but you can't trust him that he won't come out of his room so that doesn't work.
2. I partcially agree with mrs. Watson about having him stay with his Grandma. I think this because normally when you stay somewhere for punishmant the kid usually is worse because the parents aren't there. Then again the Grandma sounds pretty strict, but she can't control him totally.
3. I think Byron gets sick after he kills the mourning dove because he ate so many cookies and he felt bad that he actually killed the bird and was surprised he hit it right on.
4. Byron gets angrey with kenny so suddenly because he was embarassed that he started crying and he killed a bird which I guesds makes him sad. AlsoKenny really wanted him to hit it because he had never done it and was all happy when Byron hit it which might have made byron feel worse.
5. The author shows that Byron is not as tough as he pretends to be because he started crying when he got sick and killed the mourning dove, which most tough boys wouldn't do. Plus when Mama was about to burn his finger he started crying because he was scared.

Chapter 5
1) If I were Mrs. Watson I would punish Byron by sending to Juvenile Center instead of burning him. I would do this because as we see the burning didn't work because Joey kept blowing the flames out. Also at Juvenile Center they are not allowed to light fires.
2) I don't agree with Mrs. Watson. I think this because since Joey was there I knew that she would not let Byron get hurt, even though she said "...burn him up!" She didn't let Byron get hurt because she kept blowing the flames out and Momma got so sick of having Joey's slob on her hand that she gave up.
Chapter 6
1) Byron gets sick because he is upset that he killed the bird. He had been throwing things at birds but he never killed one.
2) He gets angry at Kenny because he is very upset that the bird is dead.
3) The author shows that when makes a little grave for the bird, he gets so upset that he throws up, also he is scared when Momma is about to burn him.

1. I would not only burn Byron's finger, I would also make him promise never to do it again, and I would put his clothes over a fire or something so they would smell like smoke.
2. I agree with Mrs.Watson's way of punishing him. I agree because it would probably hurt so much that he would never ever do it again.
3. I think he gets sick because he felt guilty and bad inside which made him throw up. also because he had just eaten a bag and a half of Swedish Creme cookies.
4. I think he gets angry at Kenny because he doesn't want Kenny to see him cry, so he makes him want to leave. Also because he's angry that he killed the bird, it so he takes it out on Kenny.
5. the author shows that Byron isn't that tough because when he kills the bird he starts to cry and makes a grave for it.

Chapter 5:
1. If I were Mrs. Watson I would punish Byron the same way Mrs. Watson was doing. If he plays with fire he gets hurt by fire.
2. I do agree the way how Mrs. Watson was punishing him. I agree because if Byron plays with fire and he gets hurt by fire. Byron needed a way to not get fire playing into his mind again so he needed to get burnt so he remembers how much it would hurt to get one finger so he wouldn't do it the next time.
Chapter 6:
1. I think that Byron gets sick because first of all, he ate like 1 and a half bags of cookies so that would make him feel sick secondly he had just killed a bird and it makes you feel terrible.
2. Byron gets all mad at Kenny so suddenly because he just is so depressed and doesn't want to anyone. He probably doesn't want Kenny to tell mama. When people are depressed about something they don't want to talk. That what Byron was going through. Plus he bought the cookies with the welfare money and if mama asks how he killed it Kenny would say the cookies then mama would say how did you get the cookies? So Byron didn't want to get in trouble by mama again.
3. The author shows me that Byron is not as tough as he seems because he has a kind heart when it comes so some situations like when he killed the bird, he felt so bad and dug the bird a grave and made a cross for it. That is telling me that Byron can be a great guy.

1) If I were Mrs. Watson I would punish Byron by burning him like she did in the book. I agree that that's a good way to show him that fire is dangerous instead of yelling and grounding him, which can make him more eager to play with matches.
2)I agree that it's a good way to show him fire is dangerous instead of just lecturing him. I would though, bring him to the hospital and do it kinder than Mrs. Watson.
3) Usually after seeing something die, you feel sick because it's gross. Since Byron over ate and feels bad, he threw up.
4) He gets angry at Kenny because he feels bad about the bird and doesn't know how to show/deal with it, so he takes it out on Kenny.
5) The author shows Byron isn't so tough by saying he made a little grave for a bird. This shows me he cares about things but doesn't want everyone to know, so he does it secretly by getting rid of people and being mean.

1. I was Mrs. Waston and byron was playing with fire after I told him not to more than once, I would make him sleep outside in a tent to make him feel what it would be like if his house burned down.
2.I do not agree with Mrs. Watsons way of punishing, because if you burn your son and you mess up he could be killed.

3. I think Byron gets sick after he killed the bird because, I don't think he was n't really trying to kill so when he did he might of been quezzy so he threw up all of those cookies.
4.Byron gets mad at Kenny so suddenly because when he killed the bird he felt really bad and mad at him self, and when Byrons mad he gets real mean.
5.Byron isn't as tough as he pretends to be because when his mom is going to punish him he starts to cry.

1) I would have probably grounded him, or have done the same thing as Mrs. Watson, because if he doesn't learn when you say something to him , you have to teach him.I also might have showed him fire reports on the news to show the consiquences.
2)I do because since he didn't listen to her warning, he should be taught the dangers of fire, and the result.
3) Byron got sick because he didn't mean to kill the bird, he was just playing around, he didn't really think it was going to hit the bird. So when it fell dead he must have felt guilty and stupid for throwing that cookie at the bird. Also the author is introducing the soft side to Byron.
4) Because was amazed that Byron actually got the bird so Kenny got exciting when talking to Byron. byron got mad though because he wasn't proud about killing the mourning dove.
5)When Byron builds the mourning dove a grave with popsickle sticks in a cross Kenny is very surprised, and thinks that Byron is weird for doing this because Byron did something unexpeced to Kenny.

4. Byron gets upset because he killed the bird. After he got sick he didn't want Kenny to think he had a heart for the little bird soinstead he blamed Kenny for feeding him rotten apples.

5. The author shows that Byron is not as tough as he pretends to be because he killed a bird by accident, but then burried it. He even put a little cross on the grave.

2.My opinon is that Mrs.Watson should find a diffrent punishment, but not burniing him

3.By gets sick because he's been eating a bag and a half of cookies and then to see a dead bird after is sickening
4.I think By does not want to see his brother swaring and end up like him and to have killed a bird I would think he would need some time alone
5.The author shows that by is not as tough as he acts like because when he killed the bird he had sympathie and makes a grave and ties two popcicle sticks together to make a cross. I think Byron has a soft spot

Chapter 5

1) I would punish Byron by not letting him out of the house and drive him to school and pick him up. And when he got home, he would have to stay in his room. Additionally, Byron would have to go to the fire house and have the firemen explain how damaging fire can be.
2) I do not agree with Mrs. Watson's way of punishing him because it is child abuse and it is cruel.

1. I would punish Byron by putting smoke all near his clothes so when he goes to school his clothes smell. That will show him whats it's like if you burn the house down. It will hurt Byron because he always wants to look and smell good.

2. Yes, I agree with it because it Byron really does light himself on fire and how much it hurts that should teach him.

3.I think he gets sick because it's really disgusting that he killed a bird. also he had eaten much before so that didn't help.

4. I think he gets really mad at Kenny so suddenly because he's mad that he killed a bird so he takes it out on Kenny.

CHAPTER 5

1)If I was Mrs. Watson I would punish Byron by not letting him see Buphead for thw whole weekend and having dad teach him a lesson.
2)I guess I do but not really at all infact if you burn you own child now and somebody finds out about it then you could be in big trouble. Then again I don't know anything else to do besides letting Mr.Watson teach him a lesson whenever they punish him he breaks the rules anyway.

CHAPTER 6
1) I think Byron gets sick after he kills the Mourning dove because, maybe the apples poisined him and also maybe because he didn't want the bird he to die he just wanted to scare it.

#2. I do agree of Mrs. Watson's way of punishing Byron because the burning of his skin is the consiquense of the house burning down because of him. Also, Mrs. Watson sweared to God that she would punish him in that way if he did it again.

CHAPTER FIVE:----------------------

1. If I was Mrs.Watson, I would punish Byron by hitting him on the head with a plank of wood so he would REALLY get that he could not play with fire.

2. I don't agree with Mrs.Watson's form of punishment because that is going a little too far.

CHAPTER SIX:-----------------------

3. I think that By got sick because he felt bad for KILLING something, not just hurting it, and took something's life and the bird could never do anything again.

4. By gets mad at Kenny suddenly because By showed weakness, and he thinks that Kenny will 'bite' him.

5. He throws up and gives that dead bird the funeral and buries him which is nice after he killed the cute innocent bird with a cookie.
